Director of MyCity programs Nic de Jong said

“this is a fantastic outcome for Brisbane City and St Margaret’s. Women’s football is a priority focus at Brisbane City and we are thrilled we are able to contribute to the growth of the women’s game by assisting St Margaret’s, one of Brisbane most respected girls’ schools, with the development of their football program.”

“Brisbane City’s role is to develop a strong depth of talent in each of the grades, to ensure that all participants develop a strong interest in the game and deliver competitive performances from Year 5 to Year 12” de Jong said.

City will also incorporate pre-season training and trials, to identify and appropriately grade players, while also preparing them for the interschool competition.

The partnership was designed to assist St Margaret’s in meeting the demands of significant growth being experienced in football and delivering higher quality football outcomes for its students.

“Personally, I am excited about the chance to work with the St Margaret’s students and providing them with the same development opportunities and football programs that just might produce the next female football star of tomorrow” said de Jong.
