Brisbane City Football Club are pleased to announce that current Head Coach, John Kosmina, has been offered a Senior Football Development role within the Club. This new role aims to assist City with our growth and development strategies and execution as we further progress our strategic plan.

“Kossie” has played a significant part in the evolution of Brisbane City this past 4 years and was largely responsible for the stability and club construct we now enjoy.

John will be working closely with our board, administration team and coaches in a key role to continue the development of our club. One of the focus areas will be to continue to work on the collective goal of our bid to join the A-League.

Further information pertaining to this important role will be published in due course. We look forward to the opportunities that this position with afford the club.

Furthermore, the Club has appointed, effective immediately, Nick Green to the role of Senior Coach.

Nick has spent the last 16 years working in Professional football in the UK. Formally a player as a young apprentice and playing semi-professionally in his younger years. At an early age, Nick took steps into coaching the game and quickly found a hunger for this important trade. Mick Wadsworth, the assistant to Bobby Robson with Newcastle United and the English National team, recognised Nicks talent and gave him his first opportunity at coaching within the Professional environment with the Under 18s and Under 23s in 2010. In this time he regularly took sessions with the First team to help develop his experiences.

Earning an opportunity to work in Centre of Excellences in England, Nick always pursued further professional development, achieving his UEFA A licence & Advanced Youth Award, (17-Seniors), and being part of a talented cohort of former players and managers who are at present occupying managerial roles in the English football league.

Nick recently worked closely to up and coming young English Managers at Lincoln City FC, the Cowley brothers and again regularly helped with the first team and working full-time with the Clubs young professionals.

Nick has helped developed player talent who have forged quality careers in England and who have gone on to be sold to Clubs higher up the Football league, accumulating more than £1million in total transfer fees.

Nick has recently moved over to Australia and has been working with the Clubs NPL 18s, 16s along with responsibilities in the SAP program.
