Brisbane City player Jackson Simpkin selected for U17 New Zealand
Brisbane City are proud to announce and congratulate Jackson Simpkin on his selection into the New Zealand U17 National Team for the Panda Cup, based in China.
Jackson will be competing in the U18 tournament alongside China, Korea Republic and Thailand, looking to prepare for potential selection for the U17 World Cup in Brazil in October.
Jackson, 17, currently plays Centre Back within the U20’s side, being praised by his Brisbane City coaching staff as a player with fantastic composure and strong, physical presence on and off the ball. He came to the attention of Brisbane City after a tour of Japan, leading to Jackson joining the club in the U15’s from rival NPL outfit, Brisbane Strikers.
We wish Jackson all the best with the tournament and his potential selection into the World Cup squad later this year.
