Brisbane City Pathways – Goalkeeper Academy product signs with Leeds United Academy
Brisbane City FC (BCFC) would like to congratulate Cooper Skerry on his move to Leeds United. Coopers move sees him positioned perfectly to continue his growth journey as one of BCFC’s leading goal keeper prospects.
Cooper has played a significant role in our U20’s National Premier League side winning back to back league titles.
Over the previous two years Skerry has worked closely with BCFC Goalkeeper Coach Billy Lumley which has led to his growth as a goal keeper and senior player at BCFC.
“We are all delighted for Cooper in making his move to Leeds United” said Billy Lumley, Goalkeeper Director at City.
“Cooper has trained with great dedication in his time at BCFC and has led the U20’s to a league title this season. Cooper has shown great maturity in his development at the club, this will help him massively on his new football journey at Leeds”
“Cooper has found a great development club in Leeds United and we are convinced that he will continue to grow as he shows a great attitude. Cooper has worked within the Senior Cohort closely which will hopefully give him a great head start in his youth team experience at Leeds” said Lumley.
Cooper Skerry isn’t the only player or former player at BCFC that has been making fantastic progress – Dylan Mobbs(Venezia FC) , Jamie Cogman (Cardiff City FC), Macklin Freke and Jordan Courtney (BRFC) are now all experiencing full time football and we couldn’t be happier for them.
When you add to this Jackson Simpkin joining up with the New Zealand Under 17’s for the World Cup in Brazil at the end of the year it really shows the types of player that City have had a part to play in developing.
The Club remains focussed on producing talent and providing true pathways to full time football with some exceptional talent coming through the ranks across both boys and girls currently.
Good Luck Cooper from all of us at City!
