Brisbane City F.C. is continuing its commitment to developing the football stars of tomorrow with significant investment in two (2) additional full time coaching roles, further positioning the club for a successful 2018 season.

Brisbane City welcomes Mitch Edwards and David Minnis to the Club to work alongside recently announced full time coaches Football Director Tom Laxton and Goal Keeping Director Billy Lumley, with all Brisbane City coaches taking on new roles as part of the recent football department restructure.

With both coaches commencing their full time roles with the club several weeks ago, Mitch Edwards has been appointed Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) Director as well as lead coach of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League Under 15 side in 2018.

Mitch is AFC Asian ‘B’ Licence and ‘C’ Youth certified and progressing with the completion of his AFC ‘A’ Licence. Mitch will also play an integral role in the significant MyCity football initiatives being rolled out across the club.

David Minnis has been appointed as Academy Director and Youth Football Director, an area of the club that includes Brisbane Youth Premier League and Divisional programs. David will also coach the PS4 National Premier League Under 14 side in 2018 and work as a lead SAP Coach.

David is certified with an AFC Asian ‘B’ Licence, is finalising his ‘C’ Youth and will advance into his A licence in 2018/19. David will also play a key role in our MyCity football initiatives, particularly our holiday camps, mentoring and community development.

“Mitch and David have both worked extremely hard at Brisbane City FC over many years.” said David Asnicar, Club President.

“Bringing them on with a full-time commitment is all part of the clubs’ strategic plan in delivering extensive growth opportunities to our girls and boys in football pathways and personal development in Queensland.” 

“As coaches, Mitch and David have had significant success with our Junior PlayStation 4 NPL teams across various age groups in the development leagues, and we look forward too many more of our girls and boys gaining the benefit of their extensive experience. It’s a very exciting time for us at City as we drive the club to new heights.”
