Brisbane City awarded Queensland Government grant to develop Newmarket Bowls Club site
Brisbane City FC is pleased to announce that the Club has been awarded a $150,000 Queensland Government grant to assist in the club’s long standing plans to develop the Newmarket Bowls Club.
The development will allow the Club to accommodate its growing membership space as part of the vision to become the best Club in Australia.
“The Club has been working with Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government to make this a reality for a long time,” Brisbane City FC President Robert Cavallucci said.
“With this funding, we will now be able to commence the delivery of new, lit playing fields for our 800 plus members as part of our commitment to provide the best facilities of any club in Australia for our growing membership base.”
The full development of the Newmarket Bowls Club site into a multi-field football facility will be a $300,000 project, and this Queensland Government grant is set to fund the first half of the project, before the existing lighting is enhanced.
With the Club’s Academy recently being awarded a gold standard from Football Queensland, Cavallucci said the development of the new training fields will play a huge role in the development of youth players at the Club.
“This new development will play a huge role as part of the club’s commitment to developing youth players and creating pathways in the game,” Mr Cavallucci added.
“The new fields will also enable the club to deliver on its strategic plan for women’s football.”
