Best Experience in Football: Playing in the top team for the club I played for from the age of 6.

Best Experience in Football: Sitting nervously in the change room in Scotland about to go out onto field in a trial game for Kilmarnock and thinking to myself… “I’m 90 minutes away from making my dreams come true”… I played well and signed a two year contract later that night.

Best Ground Played In: Suncorp Stadium for 1997 NSL Grand Final.

Gordon Buchanan

Home town: Born Kilwinning, Scotland. Grew up in Brisbane.

Playing History: North Star – XXXX Premier League (1986-1992), Grange Thistle – XXXX Premier league (1982-1985), Senior Queensland Representative (1987, 1988).

Best Experience in Football: Playing for Queensland against the Fiji national team in 1988 in a three-match tour.  National anthems, big crowds, 35 degree heat, 99% humidity, getting kicked all over the shop, terrible pitch, dodgy local refs…. loved every minute!

Best Ground Visited / Played In: Best ground visited is Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. Best ground I’ve played on is the Gabba. I played an exhibition game against a FIFA team the night before the Sydney Olympic Games Quarter-Final at this venue in 2000.  We locals were up 4-0 until three Brazil players not required for the quarter-final the next day came on to play. It quickly went backwards for us to 4-5, but finished 5-5.

Ivan Rapchuk

Home town: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Butrus Haider

Home town: South Sudan

Playing History: Played for Eastern Suburbs in the Flight Centre Brisbane Premier League before becoming a coach at Brisbane City.

Coaching History: coaching at city for 2 years. Under 16 NPL assistant coach 2015, academy coach 2016, under 13 and 14 divisional coach 2015 and 2016.

NPL history: Assistant Coach Under 16 NPL (2015).

Coaching Aims for the 2017 Season: Developing more divisional player into NPL standard player and help to grow the fantastic Brisbane City Academy Program.

Coaching Aims: To continue developing young and upcoming football players and one day I can go back home and develop young footballers over there too.

Favourite Player to Watch. My favourite player to watch is Lionel Messi but think he can do a bit of defending.

Favourite Team: my favourite: My favourite club team is Barcelona love their style of football I also enjoy watching Argentina and cheer for my home countries Australia and South Sudan.

Home Town: Glasgow, Scotland.

different stages of their young football lives).
